Get started with Other Carrier

Other Carrier is a general carrier template in Schipt Online that can be used for carriers that are not in our standard list. It can be used either without booking (to print freight documents) or booking via EDI.

Follow these steps to get started:

Activate Other Carrier

(Only Moderators can perform these steps)

  1. Click on My account up in the top right corner.
  2. Go to Subscription.
  3. Expand the tab Active carriers.
  4. Choose Other Carrier in the drop down.
  5. Click on Activate carrier.

 

Contact the carrier

  1. Download this PDF with example files.
  2. Sent it to the carrier and ask for confirmation that they accept the files.
  3. Check with the carrier if they want to recieve a bokning via EDI
  4. If booking shall be sent – ask for the EDI-settings that is specified in the PDF.

 

Create a carrier template 

(Only Moderators and Super Users can perform these steps)

  1. Click on Settings in the main menu.
  2. Go to Carrier templates.
  3. Click on Create a new carrier template.
  4. Choose Other Carrier in the dropdown and add a descriptive name.
  5. Add the communication information you recieved from your contact person. 
  6. Choose which document that should be available for printing and how many copies you want.
  7. If you use an integration to Schipt Online you can choose if the documents should be automatically printed.
  8. If you have your own consignment- or collinumerseries you can add these.
  9. Click on Save changes at the bottom of the page.

 

Create a delivery type

(Only Moderators and Super Users can perform these steps)

  1. Click on Settings in the main menu.
  2. Go to Delivery types.
  3. Click on Create new delivery type.
  4. Choose carrier template that the delivery type should be based on.
  5. Choose which tjänster* that should be used domestic, within Europe and export. If you are not sending goods outside Sweden, you can skip the latter two.
  6. Add any tilläggstjänster* by clicking on the pencil under the respective service.
  7. Give the delivery type a clear and descriptive name.
  8. Enter a unique ID. If you have an integration, it is the ID in the integration that determines which delivery type is used for the shipment.
  9. Click on Save changes at the bottom of the page. 

*Observera att det troligtvis inte finns någon mappning på transportörens sida för dessa tjänster och tilläggstjänster. Detta innebär att även om du skickar en bokning med tilläggstjänsten Chaufförsavisering så är det inte säkert att transportören kommer att se och genomföra detta. Prata med din transportör om hur tjänster och tilläggstjänster ska bokas eller kommuniceras, och hör av dig till support@schipt.com om du har några frågor.
