How do I install and setup Schipt Client?

Follow the steps below to download, install and configure Schipt Client on your computer. Depending on your IT policy, you may need administrator rights to install software on your computer. If your Windows user does not have sufficient rights, please contact your IT department. 

  1. Go to My Account > Profile in Schipt Online.
  2. Click on the button "Download" under the Schipt Client segment.
  3. Open the file setup.exe from your downloads folder.
    Observe! Start the installation by double clicking the file. It is important that you don't right-click and run as administrator. If administrator rights are required, Windows will prompt you for the administrator username and password during the installation. 
  4. Wait while the installation completes.
  5. During the installation, 3 barcode fonts are also installed. To ensure that Schipt Client can access these, you need to restart your computer
  6. When the installation is finished – log in with the same login details as for Schipt Online.
  7. Go to the tab “Settings”.
  8. Choose label and laser printers. The printers shown in the list are those installed on your computer. If you are missing the printers you want to use, they must be assigned to your computer. Contact your IT department for assistance if necessary. 
  9. Click on “Send test page” if you want to test that the prints work.
  10. If you want to integrate your business system or other external system with Schipt Online via file integration this is configured under the tab “Integration”.
  11. Click on the button with three dots (“…”) to select folders for your integration files (IN/OUT). If you are unsure which folders to choose, please contact your IT department. 
    Observe! Schipt Online can handle a number of integration formats from many different systems. Identification of formats is done automatically if such a mapping exists. If Schipt does not have a mapping for your partifular system, Schipt Client will tell you under the "Logs" tab. In this case, we ask you to contact support@schipt.com for support. 
  12. Go to the tab “App behavior”.
  13. Check “Start with Windows” for Schipt Client to start automatically (recommended).
  14. Done! Schipt Client is now installed and ready to use.

Observe: Schipt Client must be running for printouts and integration to work correctly.
